Deaf/Blind, Multihandicapped - Dallas
Individuals who are deaf-blind, multihandicapped have many of the same
needs as people who are autistic. Recognizing this match, ATC expanded
services in 1992 to include this special group of people. These individuals
may have some sight and hearing but to an extremely limited extend and
direct supervision and support are needed at all times. For treatment to
be successful, it is very important to establish a sense of security through
routine and consistency in approach and rewarding tasks. All of the individuals at
ATC, who are deaf-blind, multihandicapped are gainfully employed in DATCO
Resources Recycling.
