Seven-year-old Jai’ Kaylus is a burst of energy who loves basketball, running, and Disney movies (especially Finding Nemo!).

But just a year ago, life felt very different. Non-verbal and easily overwhelmed, he often cried throughout the day and struggled with simple routines. After a previous therapy program ended during the pandemic, his mom, Jasmine, felt lost until a neurologist recommended the Autism Treatment Center.

Starting therapy at ATC changed everything. Working with a rotation of therapists helped Jai’ Kaylus grow comfortable with new people, and tools like communication buttons and the picture exchange  system gave him a way to express his needs.

The progress has been remarkable. In their home life and at school, Jasmine shared that “Autism Treatment Center has had a great impact.” Jai’ Kaylus is now patient, observant, and cooperative. Instead of crying in frustration, he uses sounds to communicate. At school, he no longer sits on the sidelines, Jai’ Kaylus now confidently explores his surroundings with curiosity and joy. Accomplishments his team and family celebrate every day!
Thirteen-year-old Ethan has made remarkable progress after more than four years at ATC.

Before joining ATC, Ethan struggled with aggressive behaviors and communication challenges, and when he aged out of his previous program at 9, his family worried his growth would stall. However, ATC’s tailored therapy program has made a world of difference.

Ethan’s grandmother, Nancy (who brings him to therapy and cares for him after school) has witnessed the transformation firsthand. “I can’t say enough good things about ATC,” she shared. “The improvement in Ethan’s speech and behavior has been amazing.”

With support from his therapists, Ethan now communicates more clearly and manages difficult moments with greater ease - skills that have strengthened the entire family. He’s thriving at home, in school, and in his passions for theater, dance, and drawing. For the McDonald family, the impact is unmistakable. As Nancy put it, “The results have been transformational.”
Kim’s challenges began at birth. Severely crossed eyes limited her vision and she later refused to walk.

By the time she was 3, Kim was diagnosed with autism by the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), and her struggles with sudden aggressive behavior began to emerge. Unfortunately, the public school system could not meet Kim’s unique needs.

At age 12, Kim was referred to the Autism Treatment Center. It was here that Kim’s life truly began to change. At ATC, Kim and her family found a place where they not only felt understood but also supported.

In the midst of these changes, the Craft family faced a heartbreaking tragedy when Kim’s brother passed away in a motorcycle accident. Kim’s behavior regressed and she required constant monitoring. Thankfully, ATC had an opening in one of the group homes and, at the age of 14, Kim moved in - finding comfort and a sense of belonging in her new home.

Now in her 40s, Kim is happy and thriving in the Adult Day Services program, where she enjoys participating in activities with her "second family" at ATC.
