Occupational Therapy
The goal of Occupational Therapy is to help increase independence and build the necessary skills for purposeful and meaningful daily activities. Skills include learning to interact with the world around you, balance and coordination, self care, and fine motor skills like writing and tying your shoes. Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy is used to improve all aspects of communication as well as eating. To create an individual program, therapists determine strengths and weaknesses in the following areas: the production of sounds in words, the ability to understand and use language, the ability to use socially appropriate language, and the ability to use voluntary movements to produce speech and to ensure texture progression with a variety of foods. Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy focuses on improving problems with movement common in individuals with autism, such as balance, posture, and strength. Through therapeutic play in a gym with sensorimotor equipment, movement and play become a teaching avenue. Physical Therapy is available at the Dallas location.
